Jack and the beanstalk - 27.11.15

As part of our literacy topic, we had to create pictures of our favourite part of the 'Jack and the beanstalk' story. We used a paint program to do this.

Watch videos below of River and Oliver explaining what they were doing.

We even had a go at typing a sentence to go with our picture. For some of us, this was the first time we had ever used a keyboard! Mrs Shepherd thought we did extremely well! :-)

Emily-rose is explaining what she was doing in the link below.

Here are some of our finished products!

Money money money - 20.11.15

Mouse skills - 13.11.15

Today we learnt how to use our mouse to 'click, drag and drop' items on the screen.

We played a game where we had to dress a teddy for different types of weather, which links to our 'wonderful weather' geography topic.

We had to be really careful when using the mouse to ensure our items got to exactly where we wanted them.

'My teddy is getting ready to go out in the rain', said Dmitrijs.

'My teddy is dressed for snowy weather', said Erin.

Week 1 6.11.15. We were learning how to log on.

Learning how to log on - 06.11.15

Today we went up to the ICT suite to learn how to log on to the computers.

We had to follow a simple set of instructions so we could access and use the computer.

'We have to use the keyboard and mouse', said Marius.

'We use the keyboard to type', said Cedric.

'We can't make any mistakes otherwise we have to start again', said Luca.

We logged on several times to get lots of practise!

Shape Monsters!

In maths, we have been making shape monsters, using 2D shapes!

Have a look at our fabulous, very scary monsters!

In computing, we made some animated shape monsters. We had to fit the 2D shapes into the correct position, in order for the shape monster to 'come alive!'

We had lots of fun!

Who do we ask for help? - 02.10.15

Today, we have been discussing exactly who we would ask for help, if we got into any trouble online or just on an electronic device.

We agreed, that it's always best to tell an adult.

We have drawn pictures of who we would go to, to ask for help.

Rosie said 'I would tell you Mrs Shepherd and you could always help me'.

Luca said 'I would tell my Daddy. He has helped me before'.

E-Safety Quiz - 25.09.15

Today, we took an e-safety quiz!

We worked together as a class to select the correct answers, thinking carefully about what would be the most sensible and safest thing to do.

Oliver.P explained, for the question above, that you must always tell someone you trust as they will always help you to get rid of it!

We all agreed, as a class, that if any of us ever get into any trouble online, we must ALWAYS tell an adult.

There are lot's of different e-safety quiz's you can take online. Have a go!

Revisiting Smartie the penguin - 18.09.15

In our computing lesson today, we revisited the story of Smartie the penguin.
We discussed the problems that Smartie faced and the steps he took to resolve them.

Have a look at some of our fabulous work!

All of us agreed that the best thing for Smartie to do, is to always tell his dad if he's in trouble online.
